6015 1956c Bath Spa

Peter Kesrlake says "Old Oak's 6015 was the first 'King' to receive a double chimney and is on a 'Running-in' local stopper with new frames quite probably fitted at this most recent overhaul at Swindon Works. 6015 is newly repainted in BR lined green and is heading back to Swindon from Bristol and will be returned by the Works back to its home shed once passed fit following such easy duties as seen here. 6015 was a fairly frequent visitor to the far West in the 'fifties, but was used by Old Oak mainly on the fast Bristol expresses between Paddington and Temple Meads achieving some impressive and memorable runs in this enhanced condition, complete with mechanical lubrication, high superheating, self-cleaning smokebox and now with strengthened front frames as well!"
