46253 City of St.Albans departs from Preston with a Glasgow Central to Euston express in August 1949.


Ian R Townend says "I think the loco is in LMS 1946 lined black but with gill sans BR numerals and retaining LMS on tender. It later had the lining painted out and ran in plain black albeit with the BR emblem applied to the tender until receiving green livery in late 1953. The carriages appear to be mostly in crimson/cream livery with 2 retaining LMS livery.
