Early pre 1892 build with deep large cab side cutouts and early tender with D shaped cutouts, and correctly fitted with matching short front handrails Steam brake only but very unusually carrying the late crest - only 16 members of the class got these and usually vacuum fitted examples.
Also note the WW2 cab weather sheet rails on the front of the tender, retained until withdrawal.
