The ex-GER Thomas Worsdell designed 'J15s' were a numerous (259 built 1883-1913) and very successful class of 0-6-0s. They were equally at home on freight and light passenger duties. The world record for erecting a steam locomotive was set in 1913 when 'J15' No. 930 was assembled in 9 hours and 45 minutes. This amazing feat still stands today! 65471 is in sparkling ex-works condition at Stratford MPD on Saturday 5th May 1956.
