WPR 17 & 20 1970-03-04 Methil

WPR 17 & 20 1970-03-04 Methil

WPR Nos 17 and 20 are seen at Methil during the lunch break on 4th March 1970. No 20 will take a load of empty NCB wagons back to Lochhead Colliery at East Wemyss, along the WPR ‘main line’. On this day No 17 was on washer duty, charged with hauling coal from non-WPR pits which had been brought to Methil by BR.
No 17 is seen here in lined chocolate livery whilst No 20 was painted unlined black.

(I never did find out the function of the strange white building seen in the background.)
