I'm sure these Sentinel of Shrewsbury Vertical Boiler Tanks must have found sufficient favour to be ordered by both the LMS and LNER but I'm curious as to what might have been their benefits over a conventional 0-4-0 Saddletank? No matter, here is 47180 at Crewe Works in August 1953. But not to make a contribution to the internal shunting duties carried out by many other LMS, ex-L&Y and ex-L&NWR engines in the works 'Fleet' - she was there for scrapping.
