PWM 650 1954-06-20 Old Oak

PWM 650 1954-06-20 Old Oak

Note that on PWM 650 ,the cycling lion is mounted on a sheet of steel painted black, and roughly following the outline of the cycling lion. There is still evidence of the holes made in the door for this purpose. The reason for all this is that there is a seam runs down the middle of the door and the close proximity of the louvres which makes it very difficult to mount the transfers. These aren't water slide but are mounted with using Goldsize varnish, a right job in itself. John Wadereports a happy ending to the story (we hope!), PWM 650 was delivered in Jan 2017, to Rowsley, Derbyshire, for the Heritage Shunters Trust as we have purchased the loco from Lincoln City Council who owned it. Its restoration is already being planned as we are striving to collect parts required.
