73108 1950s Beattock piloting Coronation on WCML-ROneg-2986

73108 1950s Beattock piloting Coronation on WCML-ROneg-2986

Beattock Summit with southbound train. The photo is taken from where the signal box was situated. The cottages in the background are for the signal box personnel and track maintenance families. The coach in the background is passing or is parked on the old A74 Carlisle to Glasgow road. What is slightly surprising is finding 73108 piloting the Coronation, as it is an Eastfield engine on the WCML, more at home on the West Highland and Edinburgh lines. This leads me to think it is a Perth-Euston train. 73108 being borrowed by Perth shed for the pilot to the Coronation.
