GWR 43XX No 6371 on the 1.0pm (S.O.) to Kingswear at Exeter St Davids on 20 December 1958.

Andrew Fiderkiewicz recalls: "Interestingly this train is leaving from what I recall as the down platform for Southern trains which left in the other direction! The other platform face of that island platform was used by up Southern trains waiting to attack the 1 in 36 bank up to Central with, in my train spotting days at least one Z class banker in the rear.

I have memories of deliberately standing at the rearmost vestibule windows to experience the roar as the banker blasted away next to the coach".
