6001 1960-07-30 Gerrards Cross

GWR King 4-6-0 No 6001 King Edward VII passes Gerrards Cross with the 1.10pm Paddington-Birkenhead (M16) on 30 July 1960.

Peter Kerslake says "Well turned out by the cleaners Old Oak Common or at Wolverhampton Stafford Road, its home shed since October of 1954 'King Edward VII' will probably work just as far as Wolverhampton on this Birkenhead service although it may possibly work through to Shrewsbury.
An Old Oak engine from new in July of 1927 until October of 1954, 6001 ended its days in early September of 1962 working from Stafford Road shed."
