LNER class A1 Pacific No 1477N, later named Gay Crusader, has just passed Wood Green with the 11.15am Kings Cross to 'Harrogate Pullman in 1924. At this date Pacifics were not allowed beyond Doncaster on the Leeds line and No 1477N had replaced B3 4-6-0 No 6167 which had failed before departure. The Pacific would have to be replaced at Doncaster.
