Ex-Great Western Railway Collett '14xx' class 0-4-2 Tank No. 1445. Built at Swindon in Apr. 1935 as GWR No. 4845, re-numbered to 1445 in Nov. 1946 and withdrawn in Sept. 1964. Here's a lovely portrait of 1445 taken in September 1962 at Didcot MPD. She was one of a classic class of 75 locomotives, four of which are now preserved. The design's basics date back to 1868 in George Armstrong's '517' class.
