61293 1950s Lindores

LNER B1 4-6-0 No 61293 after a derailment two cranes including RS1074/30 recovering the engine at Lindores on the former Newburgh & North Fife Railway in c1956.

Graeme Blair tells us that during the mid-1950s the daily goods from Dundee was involved in a shunting mishap at Lindores when the loco derailed and overturned, he provided a photo taken in the other direction and even one of the current view - nothing remains of the embankment!

Alistair B Moffat adds "In the hope that this puzzle can be solved. 61293 was a Dundee engine in 1955. The Cowans Sheldon steam brake down crane RS1074/30 was transferred to 61B Aberdeen Ferryhill in 1967, then later to 60A Inverness, in 1975. The answer to the question (Where was it based in 1955?) might help to pinpoint which area of Eastern Scotland would be the most likely answer. 61293 spent a considerable time in Cowlairs Works as follows:
Heavy Intermediate Repair 5/9-13/10/56.
Non Classified Repair 17-19/10/56.
Casual Light Repair 31/10-1/11/56.
I hope this helps with dating the incident.
