61285 1962-09-08 Bottesford South Junction

LNER B1 4-6-0 No 61285 with the final Leicester Belgrave Road-Mablethorpe train approaching Bottesford South Junction on the last day of the GN & LNW Joint Railway on 8 September 1962, the train is passing the site of Bottesford South station, opened on 15th December 1879 (a few days over three months after the GN&LNWJt itself opened), but was closed on 1st May 1882.
The south to north connection of the junction had been removed (note the left-hand signal post stripped of its semaphores) and is signalled onto the south to east curve to join the Nottingham-Grantham line.
