GCR 872 1900s near Northwood

Great Central Railway Pollitt '11A' (LNER 'D6') class 4-4-0 No. 872. Built by Beyer Peacock of Manchester in February 1899 and withdrawn in March 1933 as LNER No. 5872. Bowling along in fine style in the very early 1900s on Metropolitan & Great Central joint lines near Northwood in Middlesex is No. 872. The locomotive is in 'as built' condition with a stovepipe chimney and no coal rails on the tender.
