'Peak' No.D85 and a classmate under repair at Toton in the mid-1960s. Two of the roads in the heavy maintenance section of the depot had specially reinforced concrete jacking strips on which two sets of four 20-ton capacity electric screw jacks were used. These enabled the locomotive bodies to be lifted off the bogies to allow them to be cleaned and repaired. Note the hole to the right of buffer where the multiple working wiring and socket have been removed.
