David J. Hayes comments Details as per the WTT for this Wednesday-dated image: 1S31, the 19:19 MWSO Motorail service from Newhaven Harbour to Stirling calling at Kensington Olympia (20:51-21:00) for a crew change and to attach traffic. Runs during the period 19th May to 27th September 1969 and is routed via the Western Region main line rather than joining the West Coast Main Line at Willesden.

Further to my initial comment, although booked to traverse WR metals, it appears that 1S31 actually went northwards from London via the Midland Main Line, which was reached from Kensington Olympia by means of a convoluted routing of Old Oak East Junction-Park Royal-South Greenford-West Ealing-Acton Main Line-Acton Wells Junction and Brent Curve Junction.
