With an 82A shed plate but no yellow warning panel, one of the later Peaks with a split headcode box gingerly completes its descent down the hill. Note the five pigeon baskets on the left of the picture - like many stations at this date this would be a regular traffic at Bromsgrove. From 12th March 1962 the banking of normally loaded passenger trains hauled by diesel locomotives was abolished, following trails where loads up to twelve coaches were worked without assistance.
