An early 1970s visit to New Street would see a constant stream of �Peaks� on the North East to South West cross-country expresses. Blue liveried No.24, shorn of its D-prefix, arrives with a northbound train on 4th September 1972. The nose end doors have been welded up; it would become No.45027 in 1975 and remained in service until May 1981.
