David J Hayes comments As per the information contained in the other views at Glendon, this iron-ore empties running with an M headcode could well be a train returning to Wellingborough from Lancashire (ex-Irlam) via the Eastern Region (e.g. Chesterfield area or even possibly via the Woodhead route?), hence the inter-regional headcode. Alternatively, it may be returning to Kettering/Wellingborough from the North East, and has possibly called at Oakham to detach empties for re-loading, which would also explain the Corby line routing. Maybe someone with a WTT from this era could confirm if this was indeed the case? The Peak is filthy!
