Not much happening at the short lived Nottingham Freightliner terminal - Estimated dateDavid J. Hayes explains why; The lack of activity at the Nottingham (Beeston) Freightliner Terminal is probably due to the fact that it hadn't yet opened! I believe the facility opened in June 1969 and closed less than 20 years later in April 1987. It was one of the many Freightliner facilities to close in 1986/87, which also included Dudley in the West Midlands (opened Nov 1967 and closed Sept 1986). There was, for a while in the early 1980s, an out-and-back Freightliner feeder trip from Dudley to Nottingham (Beeston). Amongst the many other Freightliner Terminals to fall victim to the 1986/87 cull were Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Hull, King's Cross, Longsight, Newcastle and Swansea
