4476 Royal Lancer, in company with Flying Scotman, in April 1928 was fitted with a Corridor Tender, and worked the inaugural non-stop "Flying Scotsman" from Edinburgh Waverley to Kings Cross. This view shows 4476 before being rebuilt into an A3 and has its original boiler without the large superheater cover on the smokebox side.
