60825 1950s Collessie Den

60825 1950s Collessie Den

LNER V2 2-6-2 No 60825 with a short fitted goods on the singled line at Collessie Den between Ladybank and Newburgh, on the Ladybank - Hilton Jct. route in the 1950s.

Graeme Blair adds "This section was singled by the LNER in 1933. I would estimate the photo to be taken around the mid/late 1950s. As a lifelong resident of nearby Newburgh I recall a daily Perth - Edinburgh (via Thornton Junction) freight carrying whisky which passed at lunchtime and may well be the working shown. As a young enthusiast I took an interest in this train as it usually produced a Pacific or V-2.
Re- the shot of 60825. The loco is heading South"
