The unmistakeble lines of the eighteen David Jones' Highland Railway 'Loch' class 4-4-0s are characterised by his unique louvred chimney, later replaced by the LMS along with the smokebox wingplates. The louvres allowed an airflow to improve lifting the exhaust. This wonderful view, taken in the first years of the 20th century near Inverness sees HR No. 129 'Loch Maree' with a modest passenger train for Strathpeffer Spa. No.129 ws built by Dubs & Co. of Glasgow in Sept. 1896 and would be withdrawn in Feb. 1931 as LMS No. 14389.
