LMS designed Fairburn '4P' class 2-6-4 Tank No. M2193. Built at Derby in January 1948 and wirthdrawn in December 1962 as BR No. 42193.

The former Glasgow & South Western Railway MPD at Corkerhill in Glasgow has welcomed the allocation of an almost brand new Fairburn '4P' Tank in April 1948. The addition of 'M' before the 2193 denotes the indecision in early BR days regarding the eventual familiar numbering system. The unidentified 'Caley' 0-4-4 Tank is still happily showing it's old allegiance!
