Having just been watered at Greenock Ladyburn shed circa 1959, Fairburn 2-6-4T No 42238 is ready for the road back to Glasgow -note the Caledonian route indicator mounted on the front buffer beam. Kept in immaculate condition by the shed staff, the locomotive is obviously highly regarded by its crews. Built 1946; w/d October 1963.
