42154 1965c near Tebay

Carnforth allocated LMS 4P 2-6-4T No 42154 with express lamps about 1 and a half miles south of Tebay in c1965.

This train will be the Workington and Keswick portion of 'The Lakes Express', running as '1L60' to Oxenholme where it will join with the main part of the train from Windermere - although I think the train ran un-named in 1965, it's last year of operation. 42154 was allocated to Carnforth in the summers of 1964 and 1965.
The high ground on the left is Jeffreys Mount. This picturesque scene is now destroyed by the M6 motorway.
