A lovely busy scene at Southport Chapel Street Station finds Fairburn '4P' Tank 42675 leaving the terminus with a 'local' pasenger service. Meanwhile, what appears to be aclassmatee is also departing on another 'local'. At its zenith this ex-L&YR station had eleven regular platforms and two excursion platforms. Only six truncated platforms are now in use. Saturday 7th March 1964.
