A Gourock train gets under way from Glasgow Central on a dull day in the late 1950s. The semaphore sgnals are still in place but would soon be replaced by colour lights. In charge is Fairburn 2-6-4T No 42266 of Greenock (66D), built 1947; w/d March 1966.
