Fairburn tank No.42081 on 7th October 1962 is posed underneath a curious wooden structure which at first sight appears to be sheer legs but the best explanation we have been offered is that it was a mock-up of the overhead line equipment and was used for crew instruction. No.42081 was shedded at Carlisle Canal and had just completed a General repair which lasted from 30th August until 5th October.
