David J Hayes says "The two-tier "Cartics" all appear to bear "Motorail" branding, thus perhaps implying that this train is most likely for loading at Kensington Olympia rather than being a through inter-regional special to the Southern Region. The "Cartics" may well have originated from Willesden where, I believe, empty stock for Motorail services was often berthed. "
