A splendid shot of an unrebuilt ‘Patriot’ on a typical 1950s freight duty. The children in the far right background seem to be having fun (and so would I, if I lived in one of those houses!) No 45502 ‘Royal Naval Division’ was the first Patriot to be withdrawn, in October 1960 but they all went soon after, with Nos 45543/50 being the last unrebuilt survivors, taken out of service just two years later, in November 1962.
