45510 1961-07-01 Preston

Train 1P33 (a Coventry to Blackpool service) at Preston behind un-named ‘Patriot’ No 45510, on 1st July 1961.
Released to traffic in 1932, this engine was a nominal rebuild of withdrawn ‘Claughton’ No 6012, receiving its number. No part of the original engine, except the bogie and a few fittings, was made use of again so the rebuild was essentially a brand new locomotive. Renumbering to 5510 took place in 1934 and final withdrawal came in June 1962.
