It's a somewhat dreary 1960s day at Oxenholme Station in Westmorland (I prefer our historic counties). Ex-LMS Stanier 'Rebuilt Patriot' 4-6-0 No. 45526 'Morecambe and Heysham' is getting some attention from her fireman, seen atop the tender. A pair of 'spotters' on the up platform are watching the proceedings with interest and will no doubt enjoy seeing a spirited departure of this northbound van freight. 45526 was built at Derby in Mar. 1933 as LMS No. 5963 (5526 from July 1934). It was rebuilt with a taper boiler in Feb. 1947 and was withdrawn in Oct. 1964.
