Hymek No D7002 passes Standish Junction with a Paddington-Cheltenham train on August 21, 1965.

Peter Kerslake says"A splendid panoramic view of Standish Junction and its signal box with Hymek D7002 coming down from Paddington on a secondary passenger duty comprised of just five coaches of mixed ancestry.
The two lines in the foreground are the Midland Region's lines from and to Bristol with the cross over here for workings heading from Bristol and towards the camera enabling them to take the Western Region avoiding line and miss the confines of Gloucester Eastgate station by running down the Gloucester avoiding or loop line instead .
The four road stretch between Gloucester and here at Standish was somewhat of a "Race Track" with Western and Midland Region footplate crews often competing for the lead on this fast and level section and the sight of a little Western Region "1400" class 0-4-2 on a Chalford service overtaking a Midland class five or "Jubilee" was not uncommon in those happy days."
