No.D7009 eases slowly past the PW work at Dr Days Bridge Junction Bristol on Thursday 2 April 1970. This photograph was taken from Barrow Road bridge with Temple Meads station in the right background. Dr Days Junction was named after Dr William Edward Day who lived in Barrow Road. The working timetable used the name Dr Day's Junction whereas the signalbox is named 'Dr Day's Bridge Junction Signalbox'. There was a triangular junction with the Bristol avoiding line just visible in the bottom left of the picture, diverging from the main Bristol to Bath main line which runs from left to right and the �Hymek� is on the South Wales line. There were 21 carriage sidings in the distance, spread over both sides of the tracks towards Temple Meads. The Class 35's train includes a large number of brake vans which suggests they may be a return trip working. A Class 22 heads the engineering train on the left as the relaid track looks almost ready for use.
