At Dawlish, Devon, on Monday, 9th August 1965, BR 'Class 35' B-B diesel hydraulic No. D7027, built by Beyer Peacock Ltd. of Manchester in April 1962, was working the 14:03 Exeter to Plymouth all stations service which would be quite unusual as there were not many of the class allocated to Newton Abbot or Exeter at the time. It was withdrawn from service in November 1971.
