M7 No.30048 has stopped in the branch platform as an unrebuilt Pacific arrives with an Up express. The concrete footbridge in the centre of the picture was probably the largest single structure to be produced at the Exmouth Junction concrete works. It straddled the whole layout but was for pedestrian access on a footpath from one side of the line to the other; another footbridge connected the platforms.
