30955 has been coupled ahead of unrebuilt Pacific 34056 Croydon to return the 0-8-0T down the hill to St Davids. This dates the photograph between late 1959 when the Z Class began banking duties and November 1960 when 34056 went to Eastleigh for rebuilding.
