At Pontypool Road MPD, Monmouthshire, on Sunday, 20th March 1938, Great Western Railway Dean '2721' class 0-6-0 Pannier Tank No. 2723, built at Swindon in September 1916. Originally built as a saddletank in March 1898, it was accompanied by Dean '2021' class Pannier Tank No. 2077 behind. It was withdrawn from service in August 1947.
