1X22 Summer SO Chesterfield & Sheffield to Blackpool.

Peter Rigby says "I don't think that it is 'near Chinley' as the lines were paired from east to west Up/Down Hope Valley; Up/Down Peak Forest. From memory, I think these were routed onto the Calder Valley thence over Copy Pit to reach Preston over the L&Y route. I'm thinking that this could have been taken in the Calder Valley looking E/SE from the angle of the shadow."

Mister C says "I agree with Peter Rigby that location is probably in the Calder Valley. The 1X22 headcode shows that the train is an excursion of some sort, not a timetabled passenger train. 1X22 was a relatively common headcode for excursions to Blackpool from the Sheffield area. As Peter says, most of these went via the Calder Valley."
