Note the milepost immediately in front of the telegraph pole. Richard Pike recalls that someone was very proud of their mileposts south of Cambridge. Each one was like this in a little enclosure made of four sections of medium LNER garden edging, and four corner blocks. Every full milepost and quarter certainly as fas as Sawston was done like this.
