Top Brass Norwich City Special' D209 is also from 30AOne of seven type2 hauled specials from Norwich for Sheffield United v Norwich City FA Cup 5th Round match on 17/2/1962 (Sheffield won 3-1).Leonard Rogers adds The excursion from Norwich for City top brass was for an FA Cup fifth round tie against Sheffield United, which Norwich lost 3-1. In all likelihood D209 alongside will have come on another excursion from Norwich. This latter loco and its other four sisters from the pilot-scheme batch of EE Type 4's were regular visitors to Sheffield from KX with the Sheffield Pullmans and Master Cutler during the time they were allocated to Finsbury Park. However, the last of them, including D209, were transferred to Stratford in Sept 1961 and seemed to confine their activities to the Great Eastern thereafter. The Sheffield - KX trains were reported to be in the hands of Darnall-based Brush Type 2's at this time while the only regular trains to bring GE locos to Sheffield Victoria, the Harwich - Manchester North Country Continental boat trains, were being worked by EE Type 3's.
