On a traditional loose coupled freight, formerly the preserve of steam, perhaps a WD would have worked it in 1962. Note the 16T coal wagon sheeted over, I wonder if it held sand. Also worth noting is the superb condition of the Permanent Way and the cutting without the modern growth of bushes, lineside fires helped keep these down.
