Filthy and with its smokebox number missing it is impossible to identify the leading 9F.

David Cliff says "This double headed 9F is the Stanlow - Leeds oil train, passing the site of Heaton Norris Station, Stockport Viaduct in the background. The locos will have taken water outside Edgeley Shed having worked up from Cheadle. The train will bear right in 200 yards and head for Reddish then onto Stalybridge and through Standedge tunnel. I have many fotos of this working"
