92097 1960s Winwick

92097 1960s Winwick

A very rare appearance of a Tyne Dock 9F on the West Coast mainline. No. 92097, which was fitted with air pumps for working the Consett iron ore trains, was ex-works following a Heavy Casual repair at Crewe Works completed in April 1963. Presumably it should be on its way home via Carlisle and Newcastle but since it was heading south from Earlestown perhaps it had been 'borrowed' to be run-in!
