The ex-Great Central Railway MPD at Mexborough in South Yorkshire was home to many classes of freight locomotive. Notably John Robinson's GCR designed 'O4' class of 2-8-0s. The BR era introduced new varieties such as the 'WD' class 2-8-0s and the Riddles 'Standard 9F' class 2-10-0s. Representatives of both classes are seen here in November 1962 with Wellingborough allocated 92082 taking centre stage. It was built at Crewe in May 1956 and withdrawn in November 1967.
