92235 44264 1965c Gloucester

This view is from the Western , or Welsh , end of Gloucester Central with both locomotives on their respective through lines , as was the custom for freights heading through here. In addition to taking water here at Central , locomotives on many of these freight workings to and from South Wales were provided with a change of footpate crews during their brief stop , and 92235 has a Right Away from her signal as she prepares to set off westwards into Wales. The condition of 44264 would suggest not long after 2 May 1965 when it was cleaned, with buffers and bufferbeam painted for the LCGB Wessex Downsman No.2 Railtour. It would be withdrawn in November 1965 and was recorded at Gloucester Horton Road shed on 12 December 1965, contrary to SLS info ( 5B Crewe South) on brdatabase website
