Runs past the shed heading for the docks with empties to be loaded with more imported iron ore for Consett. Not the best of views but this image shows in detail two of the 56 ton hopper wagons introduced to the Consett line in the mid 1950s with their air operated side discharge doors under the control of the driver whose engine was fitted with twin Westinghouse air pumps for that purpose. This photograph clearly shows the added scoops above the axles to protect the axle boxes from ingress of the iron ore dust.
