Looking as if it may never run again, on a bitterly cold day in January 1963, 9F No 92247 rests at Southall shed. It will have worked to London from Banbury and seems to have got stuck at Southall. This was the winter of the big freeze, when diesels were routinely failed due to the very low temperatures experienced.
No 92147 was eventually returned to steam, and served a further 3 years until October 1966.
